Annual Events in São Paulo:

Carnival:

The Carnival in São Paulo is less famous than the one in Rio, but much cheaper and less crowded. The Carnival period in Brazil takes place between the Friday and Tuesday before Ash Wednesday. In 2014 the Carnival is between the 1-5 of March.

Virada Cultural

Virada Cultural is a weekend when all the museums are open 24/7 and a lot of concerts are held on the streets of São Paulo. However, it is recommended to go during the day and early evening.

Gay Pride
